My Familiar — Privacy Policy

My Familiar is an iOS developer tool that runs JavaScript projects you author from your own GitHub repository. This policy describes what the app does and does not collect.

The short version

My Familiar does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us. The app has no backend operated by My Familiar's developers. Everything you do — project files, chat history with Claude, edits, settings — lives on your device.

What stays on your device

• Your Anthropic API key, stored in the iOS Keychain.
• Your GitHub OAuth token, stored in the iOS Keychain.
• Project source code cloned from your GitHub repositories, stored in the app's sandbox.
• Chat history with Claude, stored locally in SQLite.
• Crash reports, if you have explicitly opted in. Crash reports are stored locally and are only uploaded if you tap Send to developer.

Network destinations

The app makes network requests only to the following hosts, and only when you take an action that requires it:

• api.anthropic.com — to send chat messages and receive replies, using your Anthropic API key. Anthropic's privacy policy governs that data; see anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
• api.github.com — to list your repositories, open pull requests, and authenticate, using your GitHub OAuth token. GitHub's privacy policy governs that data; see GitHub's privacy statement.
• github.com — to clone, fetch, and push Git repositories over HTTPS, again using your GitHub token.

The app does not send any traffic to any other host.

What we do not do

• We do not operate a server. Your data does not pass through any infrastructure operated by My Familiar's developers.
• We do not collect analytics, telemetry, or usage data by default. If we ever add an opt-in telemetry feature, it will be off by default and clearly described in the app's settings.
• We do not use any third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
• We do not share, sell, or rent any data — there is nothing to share, since we do not collect anything.

Children

My Familiar is a developer tool aimed at adults. It is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

Material changes to this policy will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page and announced in the app's release notes on GitHub Releases.
